After many years of writing, editing and re-working, Ruby Duff’s latest track has finally dropped. ‘Dancing Under Lights’ showcases a truly unique voice above a bright, bouncy, folky accompaniment. Its uplifting tone and childlike innocence are the perfect remedy to the current situation and the distinct essence of Kate Bush buried beneath modern production is weirdly nostalgic. Duff explains why she ended up finishing the track: “I see ‘DUL’ as everything but being dull, as colourful as a Wes Anderson movie and as vibrant as a Bruce Springsteen performance. It’s a song that is most definitely meant to dance to under as many colourful lights as possible”.
